Rock and Wire Photo Holders

Lately I've been thinking a lot about what exactly my style is. I've been pinning home decor ideas like crazy and I can see a pattern of items that interest me, but it's hard to nail a name to my aesthetic. Do you ever feel that way?
As I was making these sweet little rock+wire photo holders I realized how much I love bringing pieces of nature into my home to round out the homemade, coziness that a house needs. I guess my style is somewhere along the lines of nature-infused-homemade-but-not-too-diy-cozy-clean-bright-neutrals-and-colors.
That sounds about right.
Materials
  • fabric
  • rocks
  • floral wire
  • floral tape
I decided to add some color to boring photo holders by combining floral tape and colorful fabric. First, cut fabric in various lengths of strips .5" wide. Begin wrapping fabric and tape around the wire.
When transitioning between fabric and tape, tuck the ends in by wrapping the new piece over the old piece. I also used some glue underneath the fabric to stop it from unraveling. Feel free to get creative with patterns between tape and fabric or make them all the same.
Tightly wrap the covered wire around the middle of a rock and twist 1.5"of the bottom to hold the wire vertically. Take some needle-nose pliers and make a loose spiral at the top of the wire to hold photos.
That's it! The whole project took me maybe an hour and now I want to make a forest of rock+wire photo holders!
Bytheway. That cute couple in the photo below? That is the very first pic we took together!
